Home Automation… Whats the point?

I’ve been mulling over what the point of Home Automation really is?

For years people have had to leave the sofa and turn on their lights themselves. So why change the habit?

Well I truly believe the real reason for home automation, the only real incentive should be to save money. The only way energy bills are going is up, giving the house some form of intelligence will hopefully lead to savings in the long run.
