The New Honeywell Lyric Thermostat

Honeywell have announced an upgrade to their range of devices which compete directly with NEST, starting with the Thermostat, it has all the usual features such as controlling from an app on either Android or IOS (looks like Windows Phone OS missed out again!), control via Siri and geofencing. Cost is $250 which puts it firmly in competition with NEST’s thermostat.

The newest feature recently announced is that these devices are now for these devices is that they are Apple HomeKit compatible. I would say that feature alone will draw a few potential customers away from NEST. After all I-stuff is easy!

In the US you can now pre-order today, with a shipping date around the end of January 2016.
