CES 2016 : Day One
Well CES 2016 finally started today, we decided to take it a little slower than our usual pace, the destination today was the Sands Expo, which contained the Fitness and Smart Home booths.
The fitness booths were impressive, its amusing how virtually every product looked the same, with very little to differentiate between them. The main theme seemed to be bright colours, and the number of devices that looked like the Apple watch is amusing.
The Wahoo Fitness booth were demo’ing the Kickr Snap and Zwift, sadly there were no freebie Zwift subscriptions being given out.
The Smart Home area was a real disappointment to me, Fibaro was the biggest name I recognised, with a very nice booth. I was hoping the market for sensors would be bigger, but most of the exhibitors were pitching their own
Everyone has their own solution, and there doesn’t seem to be any incentive for people to produce sensors that are compatible with more than one system, everything seems to be linked to its own eco-system.
My personal favourite booth of the day was the Lego Education booth, with a real interesting product for the schools market.
